NABA State Route 161 Task Force Mission Statement
Adopted by the Steering Committee June 15, 2006
The mission
of the State Route 161 Task Force is:
 |
To
develop and implement programs that involve and benefit business
stakeholders along the State Route 161 (East Dublin Granville Road)
business corridor in the Northland area of Columbus, along with
the residential communities that adjoin the corridor; and that help
to preserve and enhance the corridor's appeal to current and future
business tenants, property owners and their customers.
|
To accomplish
this, the State Route 161 Task Force will:
 |
Serve
as a clearinghouse for ideas on improving and sustaining the business
climate along the State Route 161 corridor;
|
 |
Identify
and, when possible, resolve issues identified by Task Force members
as affecting the business climate along the corridor, including
but not limited to beautification and grass cutting in the common
areas of the corridor, police staffing and response, and traffic
and street improvements;
|
 |
Advise
regional groups, including the Northland Area Business Association
and the Northland Community Council, as well as the City of Columbus
regarding the unique concerns of business tenants and property owners
along the corridor; and
|
 |
Promote
the advantages of the State Route 161 corridor as a business location,
through preparation and distribution of printed materials, communications
with local media, and other means, and support NABA's efforts to
promote the business potential of the Northland area in general
to potential tenants, property owners and the general public.
|
The geographic
focus of the State Route 161 Task Force will be:
 |
The
approximately 3.5 mile segment of State Route 161 beginning at the
Worthington city limit on the west and Ponderosa Drive on the east,
along with segments of the major arterials and other streets adjoining
the corridor and affected by it (e.g., Busch Boulevard, Sinclair
Road, Karl Road, Cleveland Avenue).
